The RCA / Ernest Annau Scholarship for Architecture

The RCA / Ernest Annau Scholarship for Architecture was established to recognize an outstanding Canadian student in a professional Canadian university degree programme in architecture. The fund commemorates Ernest Annau’s (RCA) contribution to architecture in Canada and his invaluable leadership as President of the Academy from 1994 until his death in August of 2000.

Each year the RCA Scholarship Committee invites the head of every Canadian university architecture programme to nominate one student for the RCA / Ernest Annau Scholarship for Architecture. The scholarship allows a student to pursue formal study abroad. Each institution determines its own selection process providing the competition criteria are satisfied.

The RCA / Ernest Annau Scholarship for Architecture Selection Committee is comprised of the Chair of the RCA Scholarship for Architecture Committee, two RCA architect members, an external academic in architecture, and Patricia Annau or chosen designate. A regional representative of the RCA presents the scholarship to the successful candidate at an awards ceremony at their home university, preferably at the Spring graduation ceremony.
