RCA/Nienkämper Scholarship in Design

The RCA/Nienkämper Scholarship in Design is made possible each year through the generosity of furniture entrepreneur Klaus Nienkämper. The intention of the award is to provide a significant educational opportunity to a student graduating from an undergraduate program at a Canadian post-secondary institution and to assist in their professional development.

Each year the RCA invites a different university and discipline area to select their strongest graduate for the award. The institution employs an appropriate selection process while following RCA guidelines.  It is expected not only that the recipient have the top GPA within their area of concentration, but also an excellent work ethic and demonstrated innovation in their field.

Wherever possible a regional representative of the RCA presents the scholarship to the successful candidate at an awards ceremony at their home university, preferably at the Spring convocation or equivalent ceremony.
