—Peter Krausz: De Natura (Humana)
Published by La Galerie d’art du Centre Saidye Bronfman, 1992. English and French texts by Régine Basha and Gilles Daigneault.; 74 pages, 25.4 × 17.7 cm (10 × 7 inches), Smyth-sewn softcover, offset. Design by Peter Krausz.
“Peter Krausz has the ability to translate the poignant circumstance of the human condition into a poetic, visual language. His work embodies a collective past while alluding to social and political aspects of modern life.
The recent series De natura (humana) brings together notions of idyllic beauty and underlying drama. Each fresco, a fragment of a landscape, depicts a nature that has been inhabited, through the centuries, by man. The title, De natura (humana) or rather, ‘about human nature’ relates this work to its sober counterpart, Traces-memoire, composing an ensemble reflecting the capability of mankind to both create and destroy.”
